Biografía
Paul Winchell (21 de diciembre de 1922 – 24 de junio de 2005) fue un ventrílocuo, actor de voz, humorista, inventor, y humanitarista de nacionalidad estadounidense, con una carrera en el mundo del espectáculo que se desarrolló en las décadas de 1950 y 1960. Desde 1950 a 1954 presentó The Paul Winchell Show, programa que utilizó otros dos títulos a lo largo de su trayectoria en la NBC, The Speidel Show y What's My Name? Desde 1965 a 1968 Winchell presentó la serie televisiva infantil Winchell-Mahoney Time.
Winchell, que había tenido entrenamiento sanitario, fue también inventor, siendo la primera persona en fabricar y patentar un corazón artificial implantable en la cavidad torácica (Patente USA #3097366).
